essay 3 radio

RADIO — Are you primarily a commercial AM, commercial FM, or non-commercial FM radio listener? When do you listen to the radio most frequently? Which are your favorite formats? Why?

When it comes to radio I am a commercial FM, and noncommercial listener. I cannot stand to listen to AM, because most of the time it is static and the majority of AM stations I here all talk about news and some even argue about stupid stuff.  I prefer to listen FM because I enjoy all the variety of different types of music stations and how there are similar stations to one another but they all have a little twist to them.  I enjoy hip-hop and pop so my favorite radio station is XL 106.7 and it plays a variety of the newest songs and most popular songs.  On Sundays they have a special program where a celebrity, Ryan Seacrest, does the American Top 40. Those are 40 most popular songs called in an requested by frequent listeners.  I do not like to listen to the commercials all that much. If I here a commercial on a radio station in which I am listening, I change the channel to a new one in a heartbeat. In the mornings on the way to work or school they do have a talk show, which I would normally change to a new station,  called the Johnny &  Jade show and most of the time they have a listener that has written an email to the show regarding a problem they have or have had in the past. Then they allow other listeners to call in and say their opinions in order to try to help the person. Majority of the time they are very interesting or funny.

Therefore, I prefer FM radio over AM.
